Healing Circles Global needs more of the people who benefit from healing circles to contribute toward sustaining them, and to achieve that, we could use the help of our volunteer hosts and guardians.
Most people have a hard time asking for help, and even more have difficulty asking for money, so we understand that this request might take you out of your comfort zone. However, there are many ways to do it, some of which are super easy, and some of which are actually fun!
Tell your story
Why do you volunteer for healing circles? What difference have circles made in your life? Telling your story both in- and outside healing circles can help.
Facilitate connections
Do you know someone who might be moved to donate to Healing Circles Global because of your story? If so, please lead that person to our Give page or, for larger donations, introduce them to Lindsay Espejel ([email protected]).
Invite potential donors to participate in a healing circle
There’s no substitute for the experience of a healing circle. Please invite potential donors to participate in an existing healing circle or offer to host one for them, their family, or co-workers.
Challenge your circle
You know your circle members better than anyone. Set a financial goal that you think they can achieve (for example 75% of participants donate or a total of $200 in combined monthly donations), and encourage them to meet or beat it.
Start a fundraiser
If you’re on Facebook, you’ve probably seen people post fundraisers inviting friends to donate to the nonprofit of their choice in honor of their birthdays. You can do something similar in a Facebook-independent way via Give Lively, Commonweal’s donation platform.
You can create a:
- Fundraising page of your own, and invite people to donate.
- Team fundraising page, and invite people to join and fundraise with you.
Then share links to the fundraising pages that you created on the social media platforms of your choice or via email.
Share the Thank-You slide
There’s a new thank-you slide among the resources located in your host toolbox, and you can display it at the end of your circle. It contains a QR code that’s easy for participants to scan, so they can donate using their phones.
